I have tested the wpremix theme and it works completely fine with the latest version and no changes are required in the existing theme.

I would suggest the users to upgrade to latest version to use the super cool admin panel and new features.

The premium themes market seems promising and there are new paid themes popping up every day. However, not every paid theme is of premium quality and many of them are not even worth paying. The another concern is, wordpress themes are becoming more complex and we are forgetting the real use of wordpress - to write a blog. While there are numerous themes that are of good quality - available for free download, there are not many paid themes on offer that are meant for just blog. If corporate people or Individual professional wants to have a super high design, they have to pay for a custom design which may or may not match their exact needs.

Small Potato wrote on raising personal standard for paid wordpress themes. Ofcourse, all the upcoming themes at Premiumthemes.net will follow this guidelines. However, there will be more. While I completely agree with that, I think one thing is lacking in the list and that is, power to the people. Theme Options is really a good Idea to give the control of the theme to the site owner. Giving basic options like

• Adding Feedburner ID
• Advertisement Management
• Setting Page/Blog Width
• Site Title/Logo as Image or Text?
• Background color and Text Color settings
• Sidebar on Left or Right?
• Show at most (n) posts in Blog Index
• etc.

Thomas Silkjær at undersigned introduced theme options and that is really a wonderful feature if you wish to give the power to control the theme behavior to the real user. I am planning on adding this feature in WP Remix theme as well in near future.

A request: I firmly believe any product should be useful and according to the customer need. I request the reader to write their opinion on the premium themes. I would also request to specify your blog theme needs in comments. Who knows, i might just build a theme that will suit your need exactly?

I am working closely with the developer over the plugin issues and will announce updates further. As mentioned in the purchase page, the Plugin is shipped free of cost to the clients and is not a part of the theme package in real. I will not respond queries regarding the plugin for now and I kindly request the patience from the clients to co-operate in this matter.

Custom template for a page

If you wish to use one of the templates as homepage.. here’s how to do it.

1. Log in to your wordpress admin panel.
2. Click on Write > Write Page.
3. Enter the Page title of your choice e.g. “Home”
4. Look at the right panel block options.
5. In Page Template Box, click on the drop down.
6. Select the template of your choice. e.g. “Home Page 1″
7. Click Publish.
8. Done!

When you preview your website, it will show the selected template in the “home” page we created.

Now, let us see how to set the “Home” as a default homepage of your site. I.e. when a user visits your website, the page with “home” template should be displayed by default.

Set a custom template/page as Homepage in your blog
Here’s few simple steps that will let you select a page template as homepage.

1. In your wordpress admin panel, click on “Options”.
2. Select “Reading” option.
3. In Front Page Displays section, you have two radio button options. 1. “Your latest posts” and 2. “A static page”. By default “Your latest posts” is selected
4. To have a custom page as homepage, select “A Static Page”
5. Here, you have two options. 1. “Front page” and “Posts Page”.
6. In “Front Page” drop down option, we will select “Home” page we created above.
7. At the bottom of this page, click “Update Options” button.
8. Done!

Preview your blog website. The “Home” page is set by default as homepage of your site.

Where’s my blog post page?

Note: WP Remix theme user’s don’t have to follow the below mentioned steps. It’s already set in the theme by default.

Because we selected “a static page” instead of “latest posts” option in the “option” tab, the site is not showing the posts. But don’t worry, we will kind of ‘cheat in here’.

By default, your blog’s address is..

/?page=1

So, wherever we wish to list pages, we could manually add the below mentioned code before or after the page list code.

We will place it after the page list. and the code would look like..
